OLR News Term 3 Week 10
Principal's Update
Dear Parents and Carers,
Welcome to Week 10! I can’t believe we are going into the last week of Term 3.
Building:
Unfortunately, at this stage I don’t have any updates regarding the building but will let you know as soon as I have any news to share.
Uniforms:
With the holidays approaching, we will be going through the lost property again and returning all items that have names on them. Please ensure your child’s name is on all their items so they can be returned if your child loses them.
Happy Holidays:
I hope you all have a wonderful and safe holiday break. Don’t forget to check key dates for Term 4 in this edition of Schoolzine.
Take care and see you next term!
Kind regards
Yvette Owens

Religious Education Update
Feast of Our Lady of the Rosary
The second Saturday of the school holidays, October 7th, marks the Feast Day of Our Lady of the Rosary. We will be celebrating this special day on Wednesday this week, with a whole school Mass at 12pm at the Parish Church.
The Feast Day of Our Lady of the Rosary serves as a reminder of the role that prayer and faith play in facing challenges and overcoming adversity. On this day we reflect on the spiritual significance of Mary and the Rosary in our lives. It's a time for us to seek Mary's intercession for peace, protection, and guidance in our daily journey of faith, and we invite and encourage all members of our community to join us at Mass as we celebrate this special day.
Please note we originally had a sausage sizzle planned for lunch on Wednesday but due to the heat we have postponed this until next term.
Sacrament of Confirmation
We ask that you keep the children who are currently preparing for the Sacrament of Confirmation in your prayers. This is a significant part of their faith journey, and we pray that the Holy Spirit will guide them in it.
End of Term and Holidays!
Thank you for your ongoing support throughout Term 3. It has been wonderful to see so many family members participating in the Liturgies and Masses that we’ve held, and we look forward to more shared faith experiences in Term 4.
As the holiday break approaches, I pray that you find some time to relax and spend some quality time together as a family, and prepare for a busy and exciting Term 4!

Parent Engagement Coordinator (PEC) Update
It’s almost holiday time again! I am looking forward to getting away with my family these holidays for a spring break to recharge the batteries as we head into a busy term 4 and the Christmas season. Yes, I did mention Christmas. Only 14 more weeks until Christmas, can you believe it!
I hope everyone enjoys some family time over the September school holidays and I look forward to seeing everyone in Term 4.
I hope you find the Child Safety Handbook that I have included below helpful and informative, as there is great advice on many topics on keeping our children safe.
There is no higher priority than protecting our children and NSW Police Legacy continues their commitment to child safety. This handbook is for every family and includes everything we need as a community to protect our most valuable and vulnerable resource – our children. The ‘Child Safety Handbook’ was officially launched in 2011 at Government House. A much needed and vital guide to assist children, parents and teachers, the Handbook covers the entire extent of potential hazards that young children face. The Handbook offers advice and facts on everyday activities, cybersafety, bullying, crossing roads, sun safety, bush fire safety, etc.
