OLR News Term 1 Week 4 2024!
Principal's Update
Dear Parents and Carers,
It's been a busy week here at the school, with a significant milestone reached - our first concrete pour took place on Wednesday as part of our building expansion project. It's exciting to see progress being made as we work towards creating a better learning environment for our students.
I am incredibly proud of our children for their responsible behaviour during this time. They have been cautious and diligent in following all safety protocols to ensure the well-being of themselves and others.
I also wanted to inform you that I will be on leave for the entirety of next week. During this time, Maree Sawyer will be Acting Principal for the week so please don't hesitate to contact her.
As we head into the weekend, I want to wish everyone a good week ahead.
Warm regards,
Yvette Owens
Principal

Junior Altar Server Training
We invite your child to embark on a rewarding and enriching journey by becoming a Junior Altar Server in our parish. This is an opportunity to actively contribute to our worship community, fostering spiritual growth and forming lasting friendships.
As a Junior Altar Server, you'll play a vital role in our liturgical celebrations, learning the sacred rituals and traditions that make our parish unique. This experience not only deepens your understanding of the Mass but also allows you to develop leadership skills, responsibility, and a strong sense of belonging.
We welcome you to embrace this chance to contribute to the spiritual life of our parish. Your enthusiasm and dedication will undoubtedly enrich our worship experience, and we look forward to welcoming you into the cherished tradition of altar service.
If your child is interested in becoming an Altar Server and is in year 4 or above, the parish will be running training sessions over 4 Saturdays commencing on Saturday 2 March through to and including 23 March. Sessions will start at 4pm and then the children will practice what they learn at the 5pm Vigil Mass. Training will be by our Seminarian, Rosan Mathew. Please direct all inquiries to the Parish Office to the attention of Rosan Mathew email: rosan.mathew@bbcatholic.org.au
Take the first step toward a meaningful and fulfilling journey – become a Junior Altar Server!
Catechists Wanted
Hey there! If you're feeling a bit lost now that your child has started school, or if you're a tertiary student studying childcare or learning support and looking for more classroom experience, I might have the perfect opportunity for you. Have you ever considered becoming a catechist? It's a wonderful way to learn more about the Catholic faith and to share your knowledge with young Catholic students attending one of the four government schools in our Parish.
These kids might not have had the opportunity to hear about Jesus before, but you can change that and make a real difference in their lives. This is a truly fulfilling and rewarding ministry, where you get to see the impact of your work firsthand, drawing young Catholics closer to Christ. It could be a life-changing experience for them (and for you too!).
Don't worry, you won't be alone - we'll provide you with all the support you need, and all curriculum materials are supplied. You'll just need to get a Working With Child Check number and complete the required training (which is actually quite fulfilling in itself).
If you're interested, just shoot us an email at leanne@ourladyoftherosary.org.au or give us a call at the parish office on 4332 2216. We'd love to hear from you!
