OLR News Term 1 Week 8 2024
Principal's Update
Dear Parents and Carers,
Welcome to Week 8.
It is such a busy time of the term but also one filled with lots of fun and joy. Everything we want for our amazing community!
We had a fabulous Wellbeing Week last week, with time dedicated to activities to promote self-care and mental health within our school community. This week-long event, held once a term, serves as a crucial opportunity for us to focus on the well-being of our students and staff. Throughout the week, our school engaged in a series of activities aimed at fostering wellness and mindfulness for all. Thank you so much to the parents who were able to give their time to join our children on their Wellbeing Week walks either to the beach or park.
This coming week, we will be celebrating the most important time in our Church year, the death and resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ.
Our Holy Week celebrations will begin with our Palm Sunday Liturgy on Monday at 9am. We will then come together for our Holy Week Liturgy on Thursday at 9am. These celebrations are a time of prayer, reflection and thanks to our Lord for the sacrifice of his life. They are an important opportunity to focus on the meaning of Easter.
Along with the reverence of Easter, we are looking forward to the fun of our annual Easter Hat Parade and Raffle. This tradition allows the children to showcase their creativity and celebrate the fun side of Easter with their peers. Both of these events are on tomorrow, Monday 25th March at 10am.
We invite you to join us for these moments of prayer and reflection, as well as fun, as we commemorate the significance of Easter and the renewal it brings to our lives.
Wishing you all a blessed Easter break with your loved ones, filled with much love, hope and joy.
Warmest wishes
Yvette Owens

Water Fun Day - We need your help!
VOLUNTEERS NEEDED!
Attention parents, urgent message! Our upcoming water fun day is hanging in the balance.
We're in desperate need of 40 dedicated volunteers to ensure the event's success. So far we only have 11!! Without this crucial support, we regret to inform you that the day will regrettably have to be cancelled. Imagine the disappointment on the faces of our eager children if they miss out on a day of joy and laughter due to insufficient manpower. We implore you to step up and lend a hand to make this event possible.
Additionally, we extend a heartfelt invitation to all parents to join us for a picnic lunch. Your participation could make all the difference. Let's pull together and ensure this day becomes a cherished memory rather than a missed opportunity. Time is of the essence – volunteer now and let's make it happen!
